Towing a Smart Fortwo

Before you can begin towing a Smart Fortwo, you have to find the towing eye.

It’s hidden very well under the passenger footwell carpet.

Fold the carpet back against the passenger seat, and the tow eye will reveal itself.

The battery is hidden under the styrene triangle infront of the passengers feet. This is also where you find the tyre inflation kit, and the tow eye.

Now you have to pry out one of the plastic plugs in the front (or rear bumper), in order to screw in the eye and starting towing, or being towed.

The placing is the same both on the 450 and the 451.
